01Operator and scope

These terms cover Lawyer Consult, operated by Steiner, Kenneth David MD. Contact: [email protected]. They apply to the App, official website, lawyer/law-firm workspace and restricted matter-status service as relevant to each feature. Required terms and adult confirmations are presented before the affected account features are available. A separately agreed professional engagement remains separate.

02What the service provides

The platform provides public cases and lawyer profiles, one-to-one consultation communication, and a separate restricted read-only view of certain existing matters. It does not itself provide legal advice, representation, payment processing, appointment booking, audio/video consultations or online engagement. It is not an emergency service or court-filing channel. For urgent or time-limited matters, contact an appropriate professional directly.

03Your relationship with a lawyer

Browsing a profile or sending a message does not, by itself, create a formal engagement or representation relationship. Agree on scope, fees, conflict checks and engagement separately with the lawyer or firm. Duties may nevertheless arise under applicable law and the actual interaction; these terms do not remove them. The platform does not guarantee a response, availability or outcome.

Profiles, past cases, reviews and translations do not guarantee suitability, jurisdiction-specific credentials or future results, and are not individual legal advice. Clarify material facts directly with the professional. Confidentiality and any legal privilege depend on the applicable law and circumstances; no applicable protection is waived by these terms.

04Accounts and acceptable use

App registration and consultation require age 18 or over and the capacity required by applicable law. Provide accurate information and use only authorised accounts. Protect your passwords and verification codes. Professional users must act within assigned roles and keep their public information accurate.

Do not submit unlawful, threatening, harassing, fraudulent or infringing content, malware or unsolicited promotions; impersonate others; bypass access controls; or collect records without authority. Only share information you have the right to disclose, and limit it to what the consultation requires.

05Content, messages and retention

You retain your rights in submitted content. You authorise the platform and necessary providers to process and transmit it to supply requested functions and for lawful security/compliance purposes described in the Privacy Policy. Private consultation content is not authorised for public-case publication or unrelated advertising merely because you send it.

Chat supports text, images and PDFs subject to displayed limits. It is not permanent storage. The Privacy Policy explains cloud retention, device caches, recipient copies and authorised administrator access. Hiding a conversation or deleting an account does not retract messages or delete downloaded copies. Keep necessary records yourself where lawful.

06Matter-status enquiries

Use only your authorised identity and email verification information. The enquiry service displays limited records supplied by the responsible lawyer or firm. It does not create an engagement, accept case materials or change representation. Progress and amounts are recorded information, not a complete professional file, a payment instruction, a court deadline or a recovery guarantee. Ask the responsible lawyer or firm about discrepancies.

07Reports, restrictions and ending use

Use the consultation’s reporting entry to report a lawyer. A report does not automatically end the chat or remove a profile. We may reasonably restrict access to address breaches, security, unauthorised use or legal requirements. Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain a restriction and how to seek review through [email protected]. Professional complaints may also be raised with the relevant regulator.

You can request irreversible account deletion using the App flow or by contacting us. Suspension may be reversible; deletion is not. Deletion does not by itself cancel a separate engagement, erase a firm’s legally retained records or remove outside obligations. The Privacy Policy describes how related data is treated.

08Availability, responsibility and disputes

We use reasonable care to operate the service, but maintenance, networks and provider outages can affect availability and delivery. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, excuses our own legally actionable conduct or removes mandatory consumer rights. The lawyer’s independent professional work and the platform’s own responsibilities must be assessed separately.

Contact [email protected] about a platform dispute. Applicable law and the competent forum are determined under the relevant legal rules, including mandatory protections in your jurisdiction. These terms do not impose exclusive foreign jurisdiction, mandatory arbitration or waiver of access to a regulator or court.

09Updates and language

Updated terms identify their version and revision date. Renewed confirmation will be requested where required before affected account use continues. Updates do not rewrite a separate agreement with a lawyer. English is the website’s default display language; it does not automatically override a local-language version, mandatory language rules or your legal rights. Choosing a country here does not change the region or consent records of an existing consultation.
